What is the importance of “play” in the life of a child? In this unit, students will talk about their childhood. They will describe what they were like then and how that compares with what they are like now. They will also talk about the toys they played with, the games they played, and playground equipment.
In addition, students will compare childhood experiences across time and cultures. They will interview an adult and inquire about his or her childhood and compare that with their own as well as what it’s like now for children.
Students will then focus in on the importance of “play” in the life of a child and why we should continue to incorporate “play” into our lives.
Finally, students will have the opportunity to explore one of the following:
